As for me, it all started as a way to make more money from home. I live on 80 acres of land with my husband and son. When I started my business in 2003, I was working from home doing customer service follow up calls for a company out of Minn.
I take in rescue birds and other animals and believe it or not, I was looking for another way to make money from home. We have horses, sheep, chickens, guineas, cats and dogs, mini donkeys, a llama and exotic house birds. Animals are a passion for me.
For my birthday in 2002, my husband bought me two black Scottish terriers. I had always wanted a Scottie dog. After looking at the treats that were available for my pups, I didn’t like what I was finding. There was really a lot of “STUFF” in them that I couldn’t even pronounce. That was something I didn’t want for my babies, so I did some research and came up with my own recipes to use. I then tested them on every dog I knew. All the dogs I tested them on loved them. My Scotties are right there when I’m making them, to clean up anything I might drop.
These treats were made right in my kitchen, but now I have expanded Farmer Tillie into its own building on my farm. I use farm fresh eggs right from my chickens and we grind all our flour. Everything in these treats, are suitable for people consumption. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am a licensed business, with the state of North Dakota.
